Brent Brown Sentenced For Tax Evasion

Former Latitude 360 CEO Sentenced to 30 Months in Prison

Brent Brown Sentenced for Tax Evasion

Jacksonville, Florida — April 11, 2023

Brent Brown, the former CEO of entertainment company Latitude 360, was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison on April 10. Brown, 55, pleaded guilty in January to a single count of not paying taxes his company withheld.

U.S. District Judge Wendy Berger sentenced Brown, who faced up to five years in prison under a plea deal reached last week. Brown, the former owner of Jacksonville entertainment complex Latitude 360, was indicted in October 2022 on charges of tax evasion and money laundering.

“This case is a reminder that no one is above the law,” said Jacksonville Florida United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg. “We will continue to aggressively prosecute those who seek to defraud the government and the American people.”

Brown's sentencing brings to a close a nearly two-year investigation into his financial dealings. According to court documents, Brown failed to pay more than $1 million in taxes owed by Latitude 360 between 2016 and 2019. He also allegedly used company funds to pay for personal expenses, including gambling and travel.
